In the next several months, Congress will be making important decisions regarding U.S. support for international family planning and reproductive health care. Funding for the current year (FY2011) is presently set at $648 million, but that amount could change when Congress approves a permanent appropriation bill. The International Family Planning Coalition has asked Congress to boost the current level of support to $1 billion, an increase of $352 million over current levels. Opponents, however, want to cut the current level of spending. Tell Congress that U.S. needs to boost its support, if we are to achieve universal access to reproductive health care by 2015.
